Cancellation Policy

Cancellation seven or more days prior
A guest may request cancellation of a reservation up to seven (7) days prior to the first day of the reservation. Send an email to the Club at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. stating your name, dates of reservation and the confirmation number, if possible. If the cancellation is authorized, an administration fee is charged of $10 or 10% of the amount, whichever is greater.

Cancellation less than seven days prior
No refunds for cancellation less than seven days prior to the first day of the reservation. There is no rescheduling of reservations. There are no refunds given for hazardous conditions prior to or during the booking dates.

Note that Mamquam FSR and Skookum Branch can be hazardous to drive. In winter, 4WD, high clearance with snow tires and chains on all four wheels is recommended. In summer, most 2WD vehicles will be able to drive to Skookum Branch at KM 13. Beyond that, the road is steep with loose rock. The trailhead is at KM 20. We expect people to have appropriate vehicles, equipment and driving skill for the roads. We do not give refunds based on the guests not being able to drive the roads. Do not reserve the hut if your vehicle is inadequate or improperly equipped or you do not have the necessary skills or experience to travel mountain roads.

Similarly, we expect guests to be competent to hike, ski or snowshoe into the hut. We do not give refunds if guests are unable to reach the hut. It is rugged mountain terrain. In winter, guests must be capable of backcountry navigation, breaking trail, avalanche assessment, avoidance and more. Do not reserve the hut if you or anyone in your party is novice, unprepared, physically unable, improperly equipped or inexperienced. Nor are refunds given for avalanche danger levels exceeding a party's comfort zone.

2. Mountain Lake Hut Rules:

Bookings may be made up to 180 days in Advance
Hut capacity is 8 guests (penalty for misuse). This limit is to permit the enjoyment of the hut without overcrowding.
Open cabin. (honour system)
We rely on the honour system for hut users to pay. Payment goes to hut maintenance.
If your party brings non-paying guests you will be charged $100 per night per person for each non-paying guest.
Locked propane system. Access codes emailed on payment.

Pets/dogs are not permitted in any BCMC Cabin.

Warnings:
Furry Creek trailhead is at KM 11 on Furry Creek FSR. Access road is gated at Sea to Sky Highway.
Furry Creek Gate Key Policy:
For those booking the cabin a key to the gate may be given out by the key custodian if specific criteria are met. See:

Otherwise, access on foot or bicycle only. 17.5 km from highway to hut (11 km of good road to trail head). Elevation gain 1400 meters. Allow a full day.
The gravel road is loose and steep in places, but a bike is worth it.

Access up Britannia FSR is not allowed under any circumstance.

We do not give refunds based on the guests not being able to drive the roads.
Do not reserve the hut if you are unable to hike to the trailhead in reasonable time.

3.  North Creek Cabin Rules:

Bookings may be made up to 180 days (6 months) in Advance

Maximum 10 persons per group. Penalty for exceeding the posted capacity.
Pets/dogs are not permitted in any BCMC Cabin.
BCMC Custodians may be staying at the North Creek Cabin at any time. Be prepared to present your booking confirmation to BCMC Custodians.
Refund policy (concise version): No refunds less than 7 days prior to the reservation. No refunds for avalanche warnings, weather warnings or road conditions. No refunds if unable to reach the hut.

Full Refunds
Full refunds will be given for hazardous situations out of a person's control. A full refund will be given for the unused portion of the reservation under the following verifiable statements:

Hazardous weather warning for Central Coast by Environment Canada at Public weather alerts for B.C. in effect at any time during the reservation.
High avalanche danger at the Alpine, Treeline or Below Treeline zones in the Sea to Sky region at Avalanche Forecast for any avalanche bulletin in effect during the reservation.
Unable to fly in due to bad weather.

To ensure you qualify for a full refund attach a screen shot of the web page that states the hazardous condition including the date and time during which the warning is in effect to your email request. The warning may have been taken down by the time we review your request. A screen shot will help us verify the warning condition so we can expedite a full refund.

The hut is in rugged mountain terrain. Guests must be capable of backcountry navigation, breaking trail, avalanche assessment, avoidance and more. Do not reserve the hut if you or anyone in your party is novice, unprepared, physically unable, improperly equipped or inexperienced.
